SELECTION PROCEDURE

In honor of our 50^th anniversary, EPCU will be awarding a $1,957 scholarship to each of the following school districts: Airport, Bedford, Dundee, Ida, Jefferson, Mason, Monroe, Summerfield and Whiteford. Applications will be available January 2^nd at each schools counselors office, on the credit union website (www.edpluscu.com) and at each of our offices. The completed applications are due by April 1, 2007.

DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS

· The applicant must become a member of the Education Plus Credit Union and have attained at least a 2.5 (C+) grade point on the 4.0 (A) grade point scale for the first seven semesters of high school.

· Any student who enrolls in an accredited college or trade school shall receive equal consideration. (This scholarship NOT eligible for Monroe County Community College – We do offer a scholarship through MCCC, please check with their financial aid department.)

· The following must be received by the Education Plus Credit Union Scholarship Committee:

A completed Scholarship Application
Two written recommendations from the applicant’s high school staff (counselor, teacher, principal, etc.)
A written essay of at least 100 words explaining the applicant’s life goals and reasons for applying for a scholarship.
Official transcripts of the applicant’s high school academic record.

DETERMINING ELIGIBILITY

The Education Plus Credit Union Scholarship Committee shall review all applications. An eligible applicant must meet all scholarship requirements requested. The Scholarship Committee may interview the applicants.

TERMS

All applications and other required materials must be received by the Education Plus Credit Union Scholarship Committee by the deadline.

The students selected shall follow this procedure:

The students shall pay their college expenses and submit receipts to the Credit Union for reimbursement.
The student must be enrolled in a minimum of nine semester hours or twelve quarter hours.
Recipient MUST open an account with EPCU.
